DeJaVu MH – De Niro/Anamour born 2005. Breeders Matthews Hanoverians of Awanui, Northland New Zealand.He is the third foal of thirteen from Adelheid MH by Anamour out of the imported mare Welkantje (Weltmeyer/Pik Bube) Breeders: Annelie and Reinhard Baumgart Dohlbergen. LN 331318308693)
He began his dressage career in 2009 and in 2015 he started Level 8 work to build up slowly to the Grand Prix to win third place in GP at the 2016 Horse of the Year Show behind NZ Olympic representative at Rio – Vom Feinsten (Fidermark/Weltmeyer). The 2017 season saw progress throughout the Spring to the grand finale at NZ Dressage Championships in Feilding where he was crowned Champion and in winning the Kur he became the Pacific League winner of the World Cup Qualifying Shows and in the space of two weeks the huge decision was made to take the horse to Omaha. Nebraska to contest the final.Wendi Williamson is a career professional – in the area of Environmental engineering. This work has meant that since the Christchurch earthquakes she has had a very full and demanding work life but has also managed the training of a yard of up to 6 horses at any one time. Wendi began competitive dressage in the early 2000’s and started her first serious horse Watergate in 2005. She took him to Grand Prix level by 2012. She has ridden around 15 horses at various times between then and the present and she has gathered almost 5000 grading points. She began her relationship with the Matthews Hanoverians breeding programme in 2006 when DejaVu MH was a weanling. She has purchased horses on an annual basis since then to build a very strong and impressive team of MH horses.DejaVu MH began his competition days in 2009 and never looked back. He was always an impressive moving horse.Wendi is supported in her very busy life with work and horses by husband Jon who is her eyes on the ground at shows and musical director for the Kur arrangements. They have two equally busy children. Rebecca is a successful dressage and show hunter competitor – who made certain that the Team Williamson did not miss out on a Horse of the Year Title in Wendi’s absence this year – by winning the Category C Pony Show Hunter of the Year and also the Equitation class in her section.Ben is an avid football player and Dad Jon is his team coach.Team Williamson have super groom Hannah Comrie in their employ. Hannah spent 50 hours on the plane to Europe during part one of the epic journey. She is a very dedicated and capable groom and also a capable dressage, jumping and eventing rider.
Since the trip to Omaha Nebraska, Wendi and DejaVu MH gained a wild card entry into Horses and Dreams Austria – in Hagen where they placed a creditable 5th in the Consolation GP final with some very solid work in both the qualifier and the final.
