2019 Hanoverian Breeder's GuideThe breeding aim: “… a rideable, noble, big framed and correct warmblood horse, which, on the basis of its natural abilities, its temperament and character, is suitable as a performance horse and/or a pleasure horse.”

All Hanoverian stallions and mares that will be used for Hanoverian breeding must be entered into the Hanoverian stallion or mare Studbook. All the information concerning the horse is noted here (pedigree, colour, sex, date of birth, inspection score and so on). To qualify for entry, potential breeding stock must pass through a selection process.

A foal can be registered and branded only if both its parents have been granted entry into one of the divisions of the NZHS breeding Studbook or other Hanoverian Studbook recognised by the German Hanoverian Verband.
