It is always interesting to follow up on what happens to the horses that are sold overseas. There is a good number of them nowadays so here is a short report.

Exported to the UK Two from Henton Lodge Hanoverians – Henton First Lady (For Edition/Anamour) is running at 4* eventing with some success with Bundy Philpot. A recent trip to Boekelo resulted in a not so happy ending with an E but this was her first start in many months.

Henton Audacious (Anamour/Distelfink) is also starting at 4* level with Abby Long.   These two had their last start for the season a Blenheim Palace recently where they finished a creditable 16th with just a few time faults cross country.

Quaterly Rhein (Quaterhall/Landioso) has arrived in the UK recently with Sara Holden. Bred by Dr Debra Bromiley.

Carter PSH (Corofino II/For Feeling) was recently revealed as being in the UK with rider Evie Hall and doing well at Elementary dressage. Thank you to breeder Nicolette Rendle for the updates.

Louise O’Sullivan emigrated a year or so ago and took along with her the three siblings that she informs me are thriving in the English countryside and are about to slowly become ridden horses. They are Bon Amour (Bon Coeur) Fantasma and Fotogenica (both by Furst Toto) and they are out of the Anamour/Ludendorf mare Allegria.

Victoria Wall – Elite Dressage Horses exported 5 of her horses and has established herself there with her GP mare Letty Lei (Limonit/Mantari xx), now being a school mistress for a young rider. First Hit EDH (Furstenball) is about to begin FEI level competition, Nations Hit EDH (Negro) is coping well at medium level and his full sister Nationelle EDH is beginning at the preliminary level. Victoria produced an ET foal from the sadly injured and now deceased Bretton Woods mare Bella Mink EDH by First Hit EDH – named Fleetwood EDH. He was also exported recently and is currently being broken in. He was successfully carried in utero by a close relative, Super Passionata EDH (Sir Donnerhall I).

In Australia there is quite a big line up of successful competition horses and they appear quite regularly in the Hippomondo reports on our Website in the FEI events. In dressage we have Bon Jovi MH (Bonifatius/Weltmeyer) with Bridgette Dalmau having great results in the U25 Grand Prix level. They were recently named U25 Big Tour Champion and are currently scoring well at the Australian Dsessage Championships at the SIEC this weekend. B. Matthews Hanoverians.

Prequel (Prestige VDL/Dream Boy) B. Kerry Sanders is a regular winner at U25 Grand Prix level with rider Tanisha Ryan. They had recent starts at Caboolture at Grand Prix level with two 2nd placings. He was originally named Timbermill Prequel by his breeder.

SF Austin (Anamour/Aachimedes)) B. Nikita O’Donnell of Seaforth Farm has also had success at the Small Tour level dressage with rider Celeste Amezdroz. Owned by Armani Makaj. Greg Smith has relocated to a New South Wales equestrian stable, and he took along Swarovski Gold (Swarovski/Anamour) with him so it will be interesting to watch their progress in the coming season. B. Ruth Lucas

A new arrival on the shores is GS Anabella (Anamou/De Niro) B. Sheryl Clancy. The mare had success to Small Tour level with then rider, Sandie Podmore. She now lives in Victoria with Jessica Olinda and has had recent success at Small Tour again after almost 2 years out of the competition arena.

In eventing there are three stars. Sweet Couture (Hyperion/Silent Hunter xx) B. Christen Lane, regularly appears on the leader board with rider Georgia Rhode at  3* and more recently at 2* level.

Stoneylea Windsong (Worldly/Lauries Crusador xx) B. John and Angela Smith, is going well at 95cm level with the very accomplished rider Jade Finlay. Henton Ambassador (Anamour/Distelfink) B. Dave and Bridget Sutton previously successful in NZ at 2* and 3* level is now being a perfect schoolmaster at the 105 level for young rider Kate Garner.

The jumping world has not been left out of the picture – Fleur Delacour (Corofino II/Lio Calyon) B. Butch Thomas, was relocated there last year by owner Sam Whale and regularly features in the Hippomundo reports with top 10 finishes in the main and a third place at the Caboolture World Cup show in Queensland recently. Sam has informed me that the full sister Billie, that Sam herself bred, has just started competing at the lower heights. We wish her well.

And just to finish the story with interest, Henton High Court (Hyperion/Limonit) B. Dave and Bridget Sutton has recently embarked on a journey to join an expat family in Shanghai, China so we shall watch that one for updates with interest. By Robin Potter
