Matthews Hanoverians 2014 Foal Show
Robin Potter – Studbook keeper for NZHS (and also a dressage judge) was invited to judge at the Far North Dressage Tournament on the first week in April. Peter and Judith very graciously host the friends and members of Dressage Northland to a dinner and foal show on the Saturday evening each year. It is always a highlight of the summer and was attended by 80 people.
After pre-dinner drinks and nibbles the helpers – Annike, Kaye, Chanel and Emily -brought the mares and foals into the magnificent indoor school in groups of two. All the foals are really lovely but as always there are the real stand out ones.
This year Robin’s favourites were the liver chestnut colt Danza MH followed closely by the black filly from the top studbook mare of 2013 Danzare MH – Fanfare MH, and the jumping bred colt Schnapps MH from the Grosvenor xx mare Ma Mojo Pedale xx. hey are all so athletic but the Stolzenberg colt has “eventing future” written all over him.
