At only nine years old, Gotha was one of the youngest horses competing, but this daughter of Goldfever/Prestige Pilot, bred by Jan Minner, York, is certainly living up to her genetic heritage. Ludger Beerbaum is reported as commenting: “Sensational, second place has exceeded all my expectations. The mare has shown every day what a great, inherent potential she has”

Last season, Gotha won the Grand Prix in Stuttgart and was second in the Grand Prix of Hannover. She is a prominent ambassador of the G-initiative, which the Verband created in 2008 with the aim of bringing new strength to the Hanoverian G-line.

Winner, Marcus Ehning, also of Germany, now joins Rodrigo Pessoa, Hugo Simon and Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum as the only riders so far to have won the competition three times since its inception in 1978
