Congratulations to Henton Lodge Hanoverians for breeding Henton For Glory (For Edition/Escudo I/Distelfink) ridden by Donna Edwards-Smith in the 4* (with the added pressure of being the trailblazer cross-country too). And to Matthews Hanoverians for breeding Schnapps MH (Stolzenberg/Grosvenor xx) – in second place after cross-country for Mia Gilbert.
Interesting side notes from the 2024 Horse of the Year Show
David Woolley mentioned in conversation that Judith is probably the first and only NZ breeder to have produced champions in all three disciplines – both National and at the Horse of the Year Show. We congratulate Judith and her team for this quite remarkable and unique achievement.
Henton Lodge Hanoverians bred horses in both Show Jumping and Eventing at this Horse of the Year Show.
Matthews Hanoverians bred three horses from the same mare EM Anteaga MH (Anamour/Genius) that placed first, second and fourth in their respective grades. These horses being Danseur MH, Ducatti MH – both by Dancier and Santana MH by Santino.
