It would be a shame to lose him just when his first offspring are beginning in competition. I asked Annie Wills about it, and she confirmed that although they have not openly advertised him, if the right person came along they would definitely consider an offer. It seems at this stage  a sale to England is a possibility.  The Wills’ do not look forward to parting with him as he is part of the family and also the Bank family, but they need to focus on their expanding buffalo business instead.

Limonit’s first offspring are now rising four. A few have gone out with fabulous results and very pleased owners. They all seem to have inherited his unflappable temperament and workmanlike  attitude, which has made the first outings less stressful.

Limonit is competing this season with a win at his first outing (Prix St George). If our breeders are lucky, perhaps a New Zealand offer for Limonit will keep him here.

Last NZ season for Limonit?
